Summer '13 Break Pt. 1

I'm home from college this week so I've been resting and catching up with friends. Yesterday, I met up with a friend and had a great lunch at Sunflower Drive-In. It's a casual restaurant that serve delicious vegetarian fare, and they also have a good variety of food in their menu. Everything is under $10 so it's totally affordable and you get a lot of value for what you pay for. I ordered the nutburger, which was absolutely delicious! It was really filling as well, and it even kept me full for the remainder of the day. I highly recommend this food spot, and I'm excited to try other things on their menu.

After our lunch, we explored the area a bit, and we found a bridge over the American River. It was a nice day so people were out and about. We saw some people on boats, and there were also plenty of bikers around. What was even more fun and surprising were the number of chickens we saw roaming around. We got pretty close to some of them so of course I couldn't resist taking some pictures.

Today, I met up with another friend and we had lunch at a European Vietnamese place and shopped around in a huge Asian market. The food was pretty good, but I enjoyed the Asian market more. Koreana Plaza sells a lot of cheap Asian foods, especially Korean items. I mostly bought my favorite snacks and a few things from the bakery. I'll probably make another post of my grocery haul sometime in the future. Then, my brother came home this afternoon so we had a family dinner at Leatherby's. This local ice cream parlor is a childhood favorite so we always try to stop by each year during the summer. Their amazing ice creams complete every summer!

Basically my snack essentials
Ice cream sampler - red velvet, M&M cookie dough, vanilla, mocha almond fudge, and cookies 'n cream!
This break has been treating me too well, and I'm already dreading going back to school. :/

    1. Adding GFC in my blog is definitely on my to-do list! I'm not very tech savvy so I'll start looking into that now. Thanks for asking! :)
